Internationale Jugendbegegnung 2024
- Anfang Juni 2024: Vorbereitungstreffen in Berlin
- 21.-28.7.2024: Begegnung mit der Gruppe aus Hong Kong in Berlin
- 18.-25.8.2024: Begegnungsreise nach Hong Kong
International Youth Encounter in Berlin:
Since the first part of our international meeting in Berlin has already taken place, we can now share first impressions and the journalistic work of our participants:
Social media campaign:
Katharine, Trinh, Uljana, Anthony created a Social Media Campaign about "Find Your Voice!". To see the Reels about our Youth Encounter in Berlin, please have a closer look to the Instagram Account of BDKJ Berlin!
Creating a safe space to express opinions: During the “Find Your Voice!”-Exchange we tried to create a safe space, where everyone could express their views and opinions without facing judgement. We bonded over excursions, joint leisure time and traditional german meals while talking about our cultural differences.
Education through research and communication: Whether speaking comes before listening or listening comes before speaking has always been a difficult question to answer. As we search for our own voice, we also need to listen to others and learn from their thoughts, and this requires patience and openness. We need to try to understand what others are saying, and find our own voice in listening.
Connecting through cultural experiences: Language is a carrier of culture. When we use language, we express our own identity and the cultural background behind it, which influences and sometimes restricts the way we think. Through traditional german meals, drinks at the park and *gElaTo* we invited our guests from Hongkong to our german culture.

Through a visual perspective Ambrose, Klara, Jochen and Dorothy dealt with the question how to "FInd Your Voice!". Here's their result:
Podcast:
How do you find your voice? Producing from the CVJM roof terrace with an incredible view over Berlin, Francis, Lenni, Nick, and Walter discussed this question. They arrived at the conclusion that finding your voice requires to feel confident about yourself. More relevant than our perspectives, however, we found those of people from different backgrounds. Hence, we brought the question to the streets of Berlin and got incredibly inspiring answers. This podcast is to encourage the listener to find things that make them feel confident about themselves as a first step of finding their voice.
Text-based report:
